SEAFARING LISIUS CLAN
Greetings,
this is the first time for me, so bear with me! amazingly, i found out on my own how to get to the post page. i know it may not seem like much to all you savy computer whizs, but to me, a major accomplishment. getting a new computer any day. was supposed to come yesterday, missed the DHL guy, wouldn't leave it without signature, called DHL to change shipping address to my work, couldn't do it without permission from DELL, called DELL to change shipping address, seemed like they thought i wanted the moon or something, finally got it changed, now it will be another 24 to 48 hours before it arrives. got home tonight, another attempted delivery!!! hopefully, tomorrow we will have our new toy. this old one is ready for the road. sticky key board, sloooooooowwwwwwwwww, and now the mouse has a mind of it's own. anyhow, this is alot of old news for some of you.
we've got a golf outing planned for this coming sunday. tee time, 7:45 am. should be fun.
that's all i have for now. boring................oh well.

Potentially the Best Event Ever
THIS EVENT has the potential for greatness. Combining a short run, beer, and a t-shirt illustrated w/ running beer bottles might be the best idea - ever. I'm considering signing up for the 1/6 barrel route. Who's with me?

November Wisconsin Trip
Joe and I will be flying to WI for a (too) short weekend visit from Thursday, Nov. 8 to Sunday, Nov. 11th. Wish we could stay longer, but you know what they say - Lord loves a working man! At least we'll get a little bit of face time before brother ships off to war. Can't wait to see everyone again!

Abby here again
Hi there. Just a reminder - everyone is allowed to write on this website. Not just me. You can leave comments too.
I sent in registration last night for ...gulp...a half marathon run that's coming up at the end of September. So that's what I'll be occupying my time and thoughts with for the next six weeks. Why do I let people talk me into these things?
Still nice and cool here, but might get up into the 80s for the weekend. We might get some rain too, which is good because our lawn is a little bit crusty. I heard two people were electrocuted in Madison when a power line fell into the puddle they were standing in. That sucks.

100 on 100 - Heart of Vermont Relay
Well we did it. Joe and I completed our respective pieces of the 100 mile running relay through the center of the state. Weather was nice and cool - unseasonable for August. It was actually a little frigid in the early AM at 50 degrees and drizzly. By 8AM it had warmed up to a brisk 65 degrees and pretty much stayed there for the rest of the day.
I was runner #3 - so I had 7.0 mi, 4.7 mi, and 4.5 mi sections. The first leg was a breeze, slightly downhill w/ nice cool temps. The sun was just starting to come out and it was still kind of rainy, so I was following a rainbow for most of the way. Leg 2 was boring and flat, but green and pretty too. The 3rd one was the bitch - down the side of a mountain. I lost 1200 ft of elevation in just under 3 mi if that's any indication - it was quite the jarring run.
Joe was runner #6, so he did 5.8 mi, 5.3 mi, and 4.8 mi. His first run was extremely difficult and had some major hill climbs. His last run was from 8:45-9:30PM and in the dark. Here's a picture of part of our team. We had a lot of fun with our cowboy theme. Giddyup!
We had a lot of fun, but it was difficult to go down stairs yesterday. I think we're going to skip out on our weekly trail run tonight so our legs can heal.
Joe put photos up on our website for your viewing pleasure.
